Easter 2013

Easter 2013
Sunday
March 31st, 2013

Our first Easter as a family of four! We had a wonderful day just spending time together. We had church first of course, and since we have 8am church (I didn't even know that existed until now!) the Easter bunny was nice enough to agree to come after.

Bro has issues with taking pictures when its bright out haha, so we had to try and find some shade. this was the best we could do! Love my cuties!! I tried so hard to find somewhat matching Easter outfits for them but wasn't able to find anything for either! I'm sure our small amount of stores had something to do with it. About a month ago my parents sent this super cute dress for Kinsley which she hadn't worn yet so it worked out perfectly to be her Easter dress. And Bros yellow tie from our wedding was the best I could do, I must say they look dang cute!!

I wasn't able to get a perfect Easter picture but these ones are cute enough :) We sure love these two! It was so fun having Kinsley with us this year.

Brody seriously adores his sister, he is such a sweet big brother to her.
Notice that they are sitting in rock, weird right? Well around here we have rock instead of grass :( I don't know if I will ever truly get used to it. I hope we end up somewhere not in Arizona for this reason alone, I miss grass!!

Miss Kinsley had about enough of picture taking by now!

This was the first time we brought the bumbo out. Saturday I was sitting on the "fake grass" at the baseball field with Kinsley on my lap and other then my knee supporting her she was sitting all on her own, which was the first time she had done so good. So I figured she could handle to bumbo seat, and she did great!
I just love these cute baby yawns.

Yesterday was our first wedding anniversary and we were busy pretty much all day, then when we got home Ian had to plan his lesson for gospel doctrine, so we never got a chance to dye eggs. It was actually kind of fun to do them today, it might be a new Harvey family tradition.

Bro had a great time, he did all of them but a couple that Ian and I did and ended up wanting more!

Kinsley Winsley always has something in her mouth, whether its her blanket her dress of her hands. Shes getting so good at grabbing things and bringing them where she wants them.

Watching big Brother :)

I showed Bro how you can write on them and how cool they look after they are dyed. The thought it was way fun.

The Binky would land right in the egg dye haha!

We originally wanted to hide the baskets and have Bro find them, but our house is kind of a disaster right now with how busy we have been lately so we put them out on our front porch. Bro thought that was pretty fun!

We couldn't pass up this Star Wars basket, suits him perfects :)

And what better gift to go along with it then some Darth Vader slippers.

Bro helping go through Kinsley's basket and showing her her cute new shirt.

Ian and I are still getting used to having two kids, you would think we would have our act together by now! It also makes it hard that Kinsley is so young because she really cant enjoy much. So everything in her basket was kind of an after thought once again! Luckily I had gone shopping a few days earlier and had some new clothes to put in.

My camera died right after this, and I couldn't find the charger to my other (which was dead too), and of course no batteries were anywhere to be found...so the rest of these pictures were taken on Ian's phone. Not the best quality but they will do!

Daddy helping Kinsley gather some eggs.

We only have three other condos around us, one of them is a second home so they are never there and the one on the other side is a single lady the other is a couple. We hardly ever see anyone so it kind of feels like we have the place to ourselves. We used the whole front and sides to hide the eggs.

Brody was using this egg as a flute haha it was pretty funny.

He LOVES climbing all over these rocks.

These aren't uncommon to Arizona people and really they weren't uncommon in St George either, but we hardly ever saw them in Prosser so their still pretty cool to us. They are always rattling around in the bushes freaking the heck out of me!

Kinsley was too busy checking out her hands to see Daddy sneaking some of her candy ;)

Finding Easter eggs is hard work!!

Me and my two cuties!! We are so blessed to have Brody and Kinsley in our family, they are so sweet and so fun to have around.

Me and my little Princess. For some reason she did not want to look at the camera today!

After the egg hunt I prepared dinner. We were invited by a couple families to join them but we had already planned dinner and kind of just wanted a laid back relaxing day so we stayed home and just enjoyed our little family. I cooked a ham in the crock pot with guess what...root beer, sounds funky right!! I was a little unsure myself but it turned out amazing, easily one of the best hams I have ever had! We had a wonderful dinner and watch a living scripture movie together and just enjoyed our Easter.

Anniversary

Wedding Anniversary
Saturday
March 30th, 2013

Our day started out with Ian making a yummy breakfast for us. Then we headed over to Brody's first T ball practise. Lets just say it didn't turn out well!! Hopefully after he warms up to it it'll get better.

That afternoon some people from our ward invited us over for an Easter party. I wasn't able to find any information on a city egg hunt so I was excited to have Bro be able to do this. Bro and all the kids ready to find some eggs!

There were tons of eggs and the kids had a blast!

Showin off his stash. Notice hes wearing the same shirt as yesterday, its his new favorite. He begged me to let him wear it again.

Almost every time we are in the car this poor girls headband goes over her eyes!

After the party we went out to dinner at a yummy Chinese restaurant. I thought Daddy was giving Kinsley water but turns out it was his 7up, as you can tell she wasn't too fond of it hehe.

After dinner we headed over to the mall for some glow in the dark miniature golf.

Kinsley was glowin like crazy!! She didn't quiet know what to think at first.

Bro of course had a blast!

And here's us, one year later :)

It wasn't the most romantic anniversary but it was fun and we got to enjoy our little family, what more could we ask for.

Evening in Phoenix

Evening in Phoenix
Friday
March 29th, 2013

Brody was supposed to have his first Tball practise tonight but his coach ended up catching the flu so it was canceled. It worked out great for us because we had wanted to go see the Easter pageant at the Phoenix temple and weren't able to make it last night. So we jumped in the car and headed to Phoenix for the evening.

First we went to Peter Piper Pizza for dinner, its kind of like a chucky cheese. Brody of course loved it and had a blast!! We didn't have a lot of time before the pageant started but he was able to use up all his tokens and have a great time.

Bro and Ian had fun playing this till the pizza was ready :)

This was Brody's FAVORITE game! He did it twice and loved it both times. It was like a roller coaster ride and the chairs shacked and moved around with the movie thing.

You wouldn't know it by the serious look on his face but he did love it. He talked about it the whole way to the temple!

Of course he had to play a gun game, hes all boy that's for sure!

After dinner we headed over to the temple. We were an hour early and still barley got a seat. We had to park forever away and once we got there I thought we would never find a seat. We walked down a little and asked some people if a few seats were saved. They were but the people weren't coming after all so they let us have them. We got super lucky!! They said it took them waiting 2 hours to get the seats, and they weren't even that close! It was a very popular place to be. No one was taking pictures with flashes, I have a feeling they asked us not to, so this was the best I could get. This picture was taken at the very end. It was so worth going to, I would love to go again sometime.

I had never been to the Arizona temple before so afterwards we walked around it. It, just like the St George temple, does not have angel Moroni on it. I guess its one of a few that doesn't. It is a beautiful temple though with gorgeous grounds.

This tree was so cool! I have never seen on like it before. The picture doesn't do it justice but its pretty dang cool.

Checking out the fun citrus tree.

This was Kinsley's first trip to see a temple. And yes we lost a sock!

We had such a great time together, I'm so glad we were able to make it to see the pageant.

Just a side not, Kinsley loves to suck her bottom lip in like this haha.

Thoughts and realizations

Random thoughts and realizations from our day out
Wednesday
March 27th, 2013

There really is so significant meaning to this post, just an interesting day (I don't get out much since we only have one car). Brody Kinsley and I had the car today so we got some errands and shopping done...here are a few thoughts that ran through my head...

1. Every brand should carry baby clothes in size 3-6 months. Kinsley is a tad bit too small for some 3 month clothes but most 6 months are either a little too big or a lot too big. Seriously isn't there quiet a difference between a baby who is 3 months and one who is 6 months...so what are they supposed to wear in between? Also I wish all clothing brands had to use the same sizes, why is it that in Gap Brody can wear 6t but at the children's place they are hanging off of him...just a thought.

2. Can feet get fat?? OK I know they can, but can mine? And If so please tell me its just swelling from the pregnancy. Although she is 3 months old can I even still use that as an excuse. Or better yet can feet grow once your fully grown? Because my flats don't fit half has comfortably as they used to. Also made me realize how badly I need to cut my toe nails, moms have no time to pamper themselves!

3. How sick can one person get...or how many times can one person get sick!? I came to the realization today that I'm almost 100% positive I have yet another ear infection. LAME! Here's my sick log since we've moved to Prescott..Cold, another cold, double ear infection, maybe pink eye...something that consisted of a very red eye with some occasional gunk, stomach flu which literally made me want to die, another cold and yet another ear infection. Keep in mind we have only been in Prescott 2 months.

4. Moms deserve a lot of admiration and respect, in fact I'm pretty sure they should be worshiped for what they do! And I'm not just saying that because I'm one of them, I'm talking about all moms, especially moms of 3 or more kids because then your just plain out numbered. Shopping with 2 kids alone wasn't nearly as easy or fun as I thought it would be.

5. Everyone has a mean/strict side. Usually I'm a complete softy when it comes to the kids. It drives Ian insane because it causes a lot of inconsistency with punishment and such. I just see those sweet little faces and all my anger melts away. But sometimes even with me those cute little faces don't work. I can actually be a strict mom (when I need to be), and I kind of like it. In small doses of course :)

6. Ever mall should be required to have a pretzel shop, don't you think? Brody is obsessed with them, every time he sees a mall the word pretzel comes out of his mouth. Well our mall happens to be one of those malls that hasn't quiet gotten with it because there's not a pretzel in sight. They do sell super yummy and super big cinnamon rolls though!

7. Is it just me or does this years selection for Easter outfits for kids totally stink. Seriously where are all the cute Easter clothes. Having very few shops to pick from might have something to do with it...but still. I'm completely bummed. I wanted to find super cute outfits for the kids since Kinsley's so little and cute but had no such luck.

8. This is one of my favorites realizations from yesterday :)! I'm not as small as I used to be, but I'm also not as big as I think I am. None of my pants fit that great, so while I'm trying to loose weight I gave in and decided to buy some bigger pants. The other day Ian and I went and found me a pair. I bought them in size 9 thinking they would be super comfy and great...while I got home and they were more like falling off me then comfy. So I went back to the store and exchanged them for a size 5. Not where I want to be but much better then where I thought I was.

9. Has any one else noticed crime shows getting down right freaky...or in all honesty all you have to do is watch the news to see the sickness in this world. Well I must see too much of it because I'm like a psycho when were out. I cant let Brody out of my sight without loosing it. I have to know where he is at all times or else I think hes been kidnapped. Am I over the top? Maybe, but Id rather be over the top then careless and have it actually happen.

10. What is the policy about using a dressing room to nurse?? Honestly If there is one I don't really care because its either that or we all get to hear my baby screaming bloody murder. So I think ill camp it out in the big dressing room for a while...don't mine me:) Sure hope no one is a wheelchair has to try anything on anytime soon.

11. I think I wore this same exact outfit Monday...and its only Wednesday...whoops!! Man do I ever need to go shopping. I'm also pretty sure I wore these same pants for at least a week straight. Wonder if anyone has noticed, although I'm sure my husband has.

12. Ive never been a millionaire but I just know id be darling at it. Haha really though If I had it, I could spend money like no other.

13. Everyone is hard to shop for! Our one year wedding anniversary is  coming up so I wanted to buy something for Ian. I had an idea of what I wanted to get but couldn't find anything that seemed right. They say girls are hard to shop for when the reality of it is people in general are hard to shop for. Heck I don't even know what I want half the time!

14. I love the idea of being healthy and I love fresh produce but the sad sad truth is most of the time I'm too lazy to use it before it goes bad. It just seems like so much work, which is silly because preparing any kind of food is work. I wish I were one of those people with a fridge full of produce...who actually used it.

15. Brody absolutely completely loves and adores me :) While at the grocery store he found a tag less bracelet on the ground which he apparently wanted to keep and later give to me as a present. I'm not sure if he shoved it in his pocket or it was just in his hand but as we were almost done he asked a lady who worked there how much it cost. In his mind he thought it was someone Else's who just happened to drop and leave it, that it wasn't the stores. I really wasn't sure either way so made him leave it. He proceeded to have a full blown melt down because I took his present to me away. He was devastated that he wouldn't be able to give it to me. He kept saying that someone else was going to take my present, he just couldn't stand this thought. I swear some people must have thought I beat him or something because in his eyes his world had come to an end. I was ticked off at him for making such a scene but also touched that he wanted to give me something to badly. My boy sure does love me!

16. Sadly most of the time my mood depends on the kids mood. If they are crabby you can bet I'm most likely crabby. I know I cant be the only mom with this problem. By the end we had all had enough.

17. Man I love crock pots, because the last thing I want to do after a day of shopping is cook dinner.

18. At the end of the day I realize that my kids may get a little crazy at times, that they may cry they may through fits and they may even cause scenes but they are my family and there's no one else Id rather spend my days with.

Well that's my long list of thoughts from our outing. Its made me come to the realization that either I need to get out more or think why do I even try!

Our trip to the dressing room. Brody thought it would be a good idea to use a nylon as a head band haha silly boy.

Maternitys

The rest of the maternity pictures :)
I know this is so late, but just got the rest of the maternity pictures, and love them all!! Oddly enough seeing these pictures makes me miss being pregnant, Weird especially because of how uncomfortable and miserable I was at this point. There is just something so special about being pregnant, it truly is like nothing else in this whole world. Although I must admit I do love having our baby girl here with us and getting to snuggle and kiss her all day :)

Story time

Family Story Time
Tuesday
March 19th, 2013

Brody has always had a love for reading, I have tried to encourage it throughout the years by reading to him as much as possible. I started reading to him at night at a very young age, probably before he even realized what was going on. This has always been one of our favorite parts of the day. If he is being naughty all we have to do is threaten to not read a book that night and he snaps right out of it. On the rare occasions that doesn't work he usually cries his eyes out over not reading a book! Lets face it, life can get pretty hectic around here! Ian doesn't get home from work till after 7, we have dinner together and by 8 we are getting Brody ready for bed. So these moments when we are all sitting together every night before bed  are very special and dear to me, moments to be cherished. I just love that Kinsley is getting interested in the pictures and looks along with us :) I hope that we always keep this tradition of reading together as a family, at least while the kids are young.
