Halloween Fair

 St George Halloween Fair
Saturday
October 27th, 2012

Today Ian, Brody, Grandpa Harvey and I headed to the Halloween fair. First we did some downtown trick or treating.

After trick or treating we went back to the park to enjoy some Halloween fun.

Brody didn't quiet know what to think about these guys at first, but I was able to get him to take a picture with them.

Star Wars!! I was so excited when we ran into these star wars guys. We thought Brody would be thrilled as well but he acted so weird. I honestly think he was a little afraid of them! He was fine looking at them from a distance but when he got close and had to talk to them he got all shy on us.

Brody loves cotton candy, so he was of course in heaven and went to town on it!

I'm so glad that we live in a town that has fun things going on all the time, we have sure come to love living in St George!

32 weeks

32 weeks
Friday
October 26th, 2012

How far along? 32 weeks.

Total weight gain: 23 pounds, I’m surprised it’s not more...I just totally pigged out at our bishops house!

Maternity clothes? Still the same as always.

 Stretch marks? No new ones

Sleep: Sleep thank goodness has gotten a lot better! Luckily I think my troubles with sleeping were mostly due to my sickness. Oddly enough I haven’t been waking up as often to use the restroom either. Other then finding it difficult to be comfortable at times sleep is actually pretty good.

Best moment this week? Sunday we practiced our primary program, it doesn’t seem like it would be a big deal but it was so cute watching Brody say his part and sing. I think I’m so excited because it’s his first one. Also we had an amazing bishopric dinner at the bishop’s house tonight; we all had a great time. I even eat steak, and enjoyed it as crazy as that sounds! We have really come to love our ward and the people that we have met through it.

Miss anything? Other then the regular wishing I could be comfortable again I’m really not missing too much.

Movement: Yes, her movement can be felt and seen. She especially likes to move in the evening. The last couple days I have actually been able to feel certain parts of her body too, like a leg or arm, it’s so fun and so odd at the same time.

Food cravings: I think orange Julius’s have been my replacement since I can’t get a hold of shaved ice anymore. I also love fruit, I had pineapple tonight and it was divine.

Food aversions: Ground beef as always, but its becoming less and less. Definitely still not my favorite but I can eat it if I have to.

Boy or girl: Girl :)

Labor signs: No, and we pray it stays that way for a while.

Symptoms: Acid reflex and heartburn can still get pretty bad if I don’t take my medicine soon enough. My body temperature is also completely out of wack, even with the cooler weather I get so hot especially at night. I have also been experiencing some Braxton hick’s contractions and have been for a while but just haven’t realized it until now. Back pain as always can also get pretty bothersome.

Belly Button in or out? Still half in half out, with the top pocking out.

Wedding ring on or off? On, but I’ve noticed it getting tighter.

Looking forward to: The primary program this Sunday, I’m so excited to see Brody be apart of it. I also might get a break from babysitting sooner then I thought. The boys mom I baby sit for is already dilated to a 3 ½ so she may be having her baby sooner. I have so many things I want to get done before our princess comes I could use the break; I’m also looking forward to spending lots of quality time with Brody before she comes. Oh and Ian’s birthday is Monday!

Fun facts: Last night she was quiet the little mover. She kept poking an arm or a leg out (something long and thin), to the point where you could see and feel a difference. I wanted Ian to feel it so bad but every time I would go to grab his hand she would move, she also moves whenever she hears my voice so I couldn’t tell him to feel it. Finally we got lucky and he was able to feel it one time. He thought it was the weirdest thing ever, haha in fact he said he wasn’t sure that he wanted to feel it again it felt so strange. Also I was lucky enough to receive 2 back massages this week!! I was one lucky girl!! A random fact, it is finally getting cooler here, at the very end of October, how crazy is that! Two nights ago was the first time we didn’t have the air conditioner running all night. This was not by my choice at all; if it were up to me we would still have the ac on all night. Also our appointment is this Thursday, I’m excited to go and see how our little girl is doing :)

Halloween party

 Halloween party
Wednesday
October 24th, 2012

Being over the Cub Scouts definitly has its perks, for instinse being able to go to the fun halloween party pack meeting! I of course knew Brody would want to go to this! Sister Moss is great with the kids, and had some fun things planned. First they did a parade, then made fun spider suckers, then did halloween bowling, and then played a fun game! I missed most of it because I was busy deciding who got what award for their costums so luckily Dad snapped a few shots.

I asked Brody what he wanted to be for halloween this year thinking I would for sure get some kind of star wars related answer, but to my suprise he wanted to be batman. This is the same costume he wore last year, I asked him quiet a few times if he was sure and every time he still wanted to be batman. We wont complain, easy and cheap for us!

"writing" his name on his plate. We are working on the name thing but hes not quiet able to do it completely on his own yet. I thought it was cute he tried :)

His fun spider sucker.

Brody and his buddy kaleb went off and bowled again while the older kids played a game.

Brody had a great time! He also got the award for the "most super" costume!

31 weeks

31 weeks
Saturday
October 20th, 2012

How far along? 31 weeks 1 days.

Total weight gain: 20 pounds.

Maternity clothes? Still just a few shirts, my leggings and belly band. I'm getting really nervous about what I’m going to be wearing as far as pants go this winter. I have tried on maternity pants and its so discouraging! All the ones that fit me good are too short.

Stretch marks? Still no new ones and still tummy free :)

Sleep: Sleep has been horrible!! I don’t know if it’s because I have been sick but I haven’t slept much at all. My back aches like crazy, I can’t breath, acid reflex and heartburn are horrible and I’m burning up at night.

Best moment this week? I got nothing. Anya ended up not coming this weekend and I have been sick so nothing spectacular has happened. I was able to take Brody shopping today and buy him winter clothes, so that feels good knowing he’s set for cooler weather.

Miss anything? Sleep!! Sunday I got a total of one hour in the morning, and last night maybe 2 if I was lucky. I pray its just because I’m sick!

Movement: Yes, we can all definitely feel her now, she can be quiet the little mover. She seems to move the most when I’m laying or sitting down. I have also noticed her movement increase during singing time in primary, she must like to hear her mama and all the kids sing.

Food cravings: As always shaved Ice, I know I talk about them every week but I just can’t help it! Cinnamon rolls have been sounding really good lately; I think I might make some soon.

Food aversions: Still just ground beef. And I think it’s more the raw meat, cooking it and the smell. I can manage to eat some once in a while.

Boy or girl: Girl :)

Labor signs: No, and we pray it stays that way for a while.

Symptoms: Complete lack of energy (may also be due to being sick though) and acid reflex is getting worse. I also have come to the conclusion that it’s not just acid reflex, it’s also heartburn. Also as I had mentioned before I just cannot sleep lately and I’m constantly hot. The last one is especially weird for me because I'm usually a pretty cold person, in fact in the beginning of this pregnancy I never wanted the air conditioner on, I was always cold. Now I’m always hot, so weird.

Belly Button in or out? Still half in half out, with the top pocking out.

Wedding ring on or off? On, but getting a little tighter at times.

Looking forward to: Feeling better and getting back to normal. Also looking forward to the primary program on the 28th, I’m so excited for Brody to be in it! Can’t wait to see him sing and say his part.

Fun facts: Thursday Ian felt her have hiccups for the first time, he claims it wasn’t the first but I know it was because it’s only the second time I have felt them. Also last night we learned that our little girl is supposedly due on doomsday, haha what a lucky day. One more fun fact, our next appointment will be 3 weeks from the last (on November 1st) then after that we go to every 2 weeks and then every weeks, cant believe we are already at the end of this!!

More on the pumpkins

More pumpkins!!
Sunday
October 21st 2012

Last night we only had time to do Brody and my pumpkin, so tonight we worked on Daddys. We let Brody pick the pattern again. At first he picked darth vador, then yoda, and he finally decided on a ninja turtle. Dad again drew and carved it, with Brody watching his every move, and did an awsome job.

Our finished products!! Brody's storm trooper on the left, my silly face in the middle, and Daddy's ninja turtle on the right. I must say the look pretty dang good!

The boys showing off their hard work.

I thought I would snap a picture of our fun door as well!!

We also made cookies toinght as a family! Brody especially enjoyed snaging some dough (hes my dough loving boy, of any kind!) and picking out the color for the frosting...I wonder if it had anything to do with his outfit??

Carving Pumpkins

Carving Pumpkins
Saturday
October 20th, 2012

Brody had been begging us every day since we bought the pumpkins to carve them. We didn't want to do them too early, but we finally gave in tonight. Brody of course had a blast!!
We looked online for different patterns and let him choose his favorite. He ended up choosing star wars, by no surprise to us! So Daddy used his skills and drew a storm trooper on Bros pumpkin.

Dad was nice and cut all the tops for us.

Brody was excited and ready to dig right in!

I finally convinced him to just put his hand in and go at it, he wasn't too sure about it at first haha as you can tell by this reaction.

Brody was quiet the little helper :)

While Daddy was finishing up the storm trooper on Brodys I let him draw the face on mine. He was pretty dang excited about this. Here he is drawing my "silly face".

The finished product! I just love Brodys creation!

The mind of a 4 year old

The mind of a 4 year old
October 2012

Brody is always saying the funniest things, and also the sweetest things. What comes out of his mouth never seems to surprise me! One day he said something and I thought to myself that I should really write it down, so after that I started writing things down that I didn't want to forget. Here are a few things this cutie comes up with...

*October 3rd: Brody is the sweetest most considerate little boy I have ever met. He is constantly telling me how beautiful I am, I mean like 20 times a day at least! He must have heard me complaining to Ian lately that I feel like I'm getting fat because here's what this little boy came up with. He walks up to me one day and says "Mom I think your beautiful, and not fat, but a little bit skinny....(pause)...just right." Seriously, how sweet is he!!

*October 8th: Brody and I were just relaxing on the couch chatting. I asked him if I was his best friend and he said yes. I always like teasing him so I told him he never gets to leave me, his reply was "Ok (pause for thinking)...but when I leave I'm going to call on the phone and always come back." Haha seriously what a cute.
A couple days later I was telling him how much I love him. His reply to that was "I love you too, but remember when I leave I'm going to call on the phone."

*October ?: I don't remember the exact date but it was sometime shortly after his birthday. Brody and I were at Walmart and ran into Sister Lillywhite, she is the 2nd councilor in the stake primary presidency, we work pretty closely since I'm the 2nd councilor in our ward (she helps me a ton with scouts!) Anyways we were chatting and I told Brody to tell her what he just had, meaning his birthday. His response to this was " Uhhh my FREAKIN star wars party." With a completely how could you not know attitude. I could have died, luckily she just laughed!

October 11th: I had my doctors appointment today so we all headed over to it. While waiting Brody was talking to some kids. He was trying to explain to them who Ian was, here's his attempt.."the one with the cut short hair cut...with the pokies...that's my Dad." Haha we couldn't help but laugh at this. It was a pretty good description being that Ian shaves his head.

October 14th: Brody's room was in serious need to a cleaning, and he knows I don't like a messy room. So while I was helping him get ready for church this morning he tells me "when we get home from church I want to clean up my room super sparkly!" My response "YES, PLEASE DO!"

Also this same morning I asked him if he wanted some cereal for breakfast. He said no, that he wanted vegetables for breakfast. Who is this kid!!

Brody was full of funnies today, because I have one more..which is probably my favorite. At 4 I had to go on some visits with our primary presidency, which always take a while. So when I got home Brody was asleep on the couch, I knew this was so not good, especially since he had been asleep for awhile. We managed to get him in his bed around 10 or so. Around 11:30 I opened our front door to check something out and when I closed it again Brody busts out of his room with a big smile on his face and said "Good Morning Mama!" Me: "Oh sweetie its not morning yet, Daddy and I haven't even gone to bed yet." Brody: "oohhh", smile instantly disappearing. Haha I couldn't help but laugh, he must have been just waiting to hear that door which meant Dad went to school and it was morning. So we made a bed for him on our floor (between my belly and the way he sleeps there's no way he would fit with us) and he was back to being excited :)

October 15th: Ian once told me that whenever his parents wanted to find out their kids secrets they would ask them questions while they were sleeping. We tried it a while ago with Brody and it so works! Tonight while checking on Brody I decided to give it another try. So I said the normal goodnight I love you to see if he was aware and he was, but still very much asleep. Then I asked him who his favorite was... Brody: "Mama." So I thought Id pry a little bit more, I asked him who his best friend was...Brody: "Daddy." Haha maybe I shouldn't ask questions I don't want to know. But hey at least I'm his favorite.

October 17th: Today after picking Brody up from Grandmas we headed to the store to pick up a few things. I was missing my little man so I told him "Brody I love you more then life itself" Brody: "Mama your SOOO beautiful." He sure knows how to make me feel good :)

Also today, I was in the kitchen making dinner and Brody was just hanging out with me. He started tapping his foot on the tile and asked me what that noise was. I guess I didn't clue into the fact that he was playing around because I told him I thought it was his foot. But Brody informed me that "no, its a bad case of ghosts!"

October 18th: We have one of those cloth closets in front of our window in our room (so not my ideal spot for it), and the light was shinning through it this morning, causing the bottom of it to look very lite up. Brody: Big gasp..."Mama whats that light in your closet!?" Me: "Oh its just the light shinning through the window. Brody: "No, I think its a monster taking Brody's presents!" Haha looks like its time to find a new hiding spot.

Also today. We have his friends Sam and Zion over and they all wanted to watch a movie with popcorn. Brody of course wanted to watch star wars but they ended up deciding on Kong fu panda 2. While watching it a fight scene came on, Brody leaned over to the boys and said "Star wars is way cooler, Star wars has light sabers." As if the fight scenes in Kong fu panda weren't cool enough!
