His Own BB Gun!!

Brody loves guns!! He is all boy that's for sure. So we decided to get him his own BB gun, a smaller one that he could handle. He was beyond excited of course. We went out, found a hidden spot and set up some targets.

 He is still getting the hang of it, I think he managed to hit one a few times when he was a little closer. It was ridiculously windy out!! Which I can only assume makes it harder.

 

I always have to take a few shots while were out, too fun not to!!

 

Kinsley Mae eventually woke up, it was WAY too windy to take her out so us girls got to hang out in the car. I think we managed to pick one of the windiest places in the world to move to...ugh.

Kinsley loves using her legs. Whenever we hold her up she always wants to stand, so we bought her a jumper tonight and she loves it! Shes still a little small so we padded it with blankets and it works just fine.

 

Brody thought she needed a friend so he lent his favorite puppy to her :)

At Kinsley's 2 month appointment she weighed 11 pounds 14 ounces, apparently this was really poor weight gain since she weighed 10 pounds 13 ounces at birth. So we were scheduled to go back in a month for a follow up. I wasn't too fond of the doctor we saw so we switched to a different one within the same office. She asked me about Kinsley's weight history, the first thing she said was "did she really weigh 10 pounds 13 ounces??" I reassured her that she did. She then asked if I had diabetes, and if I had a c section. I honestly got the feeling that she almost didn't believe that she was that big haha... it is pretty shocking. We weighed her and she weighed in at 13 pounds 6 ounces. Thanks goodness, almost 2 pounds in 1 month! So the worry level is definitely down. Kinsley is now in the 45th percentile for weight, weird being that she was almost 100% at birth!

This morning we headed over to one of the baseball fields for the little league opening ceremony. Here is Bro with some of his cute little team.

 

 

They introduced the T ball teams first one at a time and had us walk out onto the field. They also had some speakers and the older teams played but we didnt stay for the games.

 

The boys were patient for a while, actually longer then I expected then they got bored like all 4 year old's do and the phones got brought out :) 

 



 

Last nights practis went a lot better then the first, Bro is warming up to the idea more but still a little timid. Heres to hoping this season is lots of fun for him!

As if I don't wake up enough with the baby the past few nights Brody has been coming into our room in the early morning hours, were talking like 2am. The poor guy has been having nightmares :( Then Kinsley woke up for her usual 6am feeding and it was a tight fit. I thought it was the cutest thing ever when I caught them snuggled up together, I just couldn't resist taking a picture!

Our First Wedding Anniversary

Wow, we have already been married a year or it seems more like 20...haha depending on the day it can feel like both. I am so happy to have shared the last year of my life with this wonderful man. We have been through A LOT the last year, or at least what feels like a lot! We had a lovely wedding followed by a pretty awesome honeymoon. Ian was still a teacher at the time and took on couching track so was gone a lot of late nights. I was called to be the second councilor in the Primary a few weeks before our wedding, which seemed like a huge deal to me at the time!! A couple weeks after we were married Ian was called to be the second councilor in the Bishopric, which seemed like an even huger deal to me!! Talk about crazy, I literally got to sit by my husband one sacrament meeting while we lived it Utah. About 4 weeks after we were married I started feeling a little different and knew exactly what was going on, we were PREGNANT :) I was sick and down right exhausted for the first 1 1/2 trimesters of my pregnancy and I'm willingly admitting I was next to impossible to live with. I'm not joking when I say I'm surprised we made it through those first months of our marriage :/ The school year came to and end and Ian got hired as the lead installer for our friends shutter and blind business (at the time we thought just for the summer). We had an extremely hard time making it on Ian's teachers salary so after a lot of long talks Ian told his principal he would not be coming back next year. So there we were pregnant and with no insurance because we owned a house which was actually costing us money to have. So after a lot of working with them we finally were able to pay for me to have state insurance, huge relief!! Ian took a painting job in Florida for a couple weeks in the summer and other then that worked as the installer. We started making some really great friends in St George (I hope will be life long friends) and grew to love it there. I started the long process of trying to mind things with my family which as you can imagine added a ton of stress to my life but definitely worth it. Ian and I discussed about every option we thought we could do and we decided to go back to school. Ian did one semester which was like a living nightmare, we hardly ever saw him and when we did he was doing homework or studying. We quickly realized that wasn't working so he started applying for jobs like crazy. I never realized how long it took to apply for jobs!! Now all his time was spent doing that with no one ever getting back to us. Isn't having your MBA supposed to get you somewhere?? Apparently not anymore. We started the long process of  having Ian adopt Brody, which we are thrilled about! Our due date was getting closer and closer and nothing was happening yet. So on December 21st I was induced and had our monster of a baby!! We just loved and adored her from the moment we laid eyes on her. But I wont lie, it was and still is a hard adjustment. Ian finally got some calls back from jobs but by then we started applying to anything out of desperation so they were not by any means what we were hoping for. He was working for SOS and doing secret calls to businesses during the morning/afternoon, installing blinds the rest of the day and driving taxi all night. Being sleep deprived was an understatement. All the while I had a newborn baby at home and a 4 year old to entertain. Life was less then perfect and defiantly not what we imagined for us. I had been against him being a teacher from the beginning since the pay in so incredibly horrible. I prayed and prayed about what to do and finally I went to him one day and said we need to look back into educations because nothing else was happening. I wasn't excited about this because it would mean a move since he is only certified to teach in Arizona. He applied for a job, was called the very next day, had an interview the next and was offered the job. I was in shocked it all happened so fast. We took the job drove to Prescott AZ on a Thursday found a place to live, drove home packed our things up and moved that Saturday. This was very sad for us since we loved St George so much. We had amazing friends and lived in a great ward, it was extremely hard to leave. Ian started work that Monday and I was left to wrap my brain around the fact that I was now along in a town I knew nothing about. We were extremely lucky to get into another pretty good ward and I have made some friends but still miss my old ones every day. I am back in the Primary Presidency as the Secretary now and Ian is teaching Gospel Doctrine, were glad to serve the Lord but so thankful they are not as intense as our old callings.The date for Brody's biological father to respond came and went so our odds for the adoption going well are very great.  As we ran into before, Ian's teaching salary doesn't quiet cut it so he is now tutoring after school until 7:00 every night. We are beginning to settle into living in Prescott but would still move back to St George in a heart beat if we could. Looking back on everything that we went through our first year I cant believe we even had 2 seconds for each other. But life is crazy and it always will be, in fact the more kids we have the crazier it'll get!! Just being with this man makes it all worth it though. He truly loves and adores me and it constantly shows through the kind acts he does for me. Our marriage isn't perfect, but really who's is. I think the imperfect makes you love and appreciate each other even more. So here's to an eternity of anniversaries together :)

Our first Easter as a family of four! We had a wonderful day just spending time together. We had church first of course, and since we have 8am church (I didn't even know that existed until now!) the Easter bunny was nice enough to agree to come after. 

 

Bro has issues with taking pictures when its bright out haha, so we had to try and find some shade. this was the best we could do! Love my cuties!! I tried so hard to find somewhat matching Easter outfits for them but wasn't able to find anything for either! I'm sure our small amount of stores had something to do with it. About a month ago my parents sent this super cute dress for Kinsley which she hadn't worn yet so it worked out perfectly to be her Easter dress. And Bros yellow tie from our wedding was the best I could do, I must say they look dang cute!!

I wasn't able to get a perfect Easter picture but these ones are cute enough :) We sure love these two! It was so fun having Kinsley with us this year.

Brody seriously adores his sister, he is such a sweet big brother to her.

Notice that they are sitting in rock, weird right? Well around here we have rock instead of grass :( I don't know if I will ever truly get used to it. I hope we end up somewhere not in Arizona for this reason alone, I miss grass!!

This was the first time we brought the bumbo out. Saturday I was sitting on the "fake grass" at the baseball field with Kinsley on my lap and other then my knee supporting her she was sitting all on her own, which was the first time she had done so good. So I figured she could handle to bumbo seat, and she did great!

I just love these cute baby yawns.

 

Yesterday was our first wedding anniversary and we were busy pretty much all day, then when we got home Ian had to plan his lesson for gospel doctrine, so we never got a chance to dye eggs. It was actually kind of fun to do them today, it might be a new Harvey family tradition.

Bro had a great time, he did all of them but a couple that Ian and I did and ended up wanting more!

 



Kinsley Winsley always has something in her mouth, whether its her blanket her dress of her hands. Shes getting so good at grabbing things and bringing them where she wants them.

We originally wanted to hide the baskets and have Bro find them, but our house is kind of a disaster right now with how busy we have been lately so we put them out on our front porch. Bro thought that was pretty fun!

 

We couldn't pass up this Star Wars basket, suits him perfects :)

Ian and I are still getting used to having two kids, you would think we would have our act together by now! It also makes it hard that Kinsley is so young because she really cant enjoy much. So everything in her basket was kind of an after thought once again! Luckily I had gone shopping a few days earlier and had some new clothes to put in.

 

My camera died right after this, and I couldn't find the charger to my other (which was dead too), and of course no batteries were anywhere to be found...so the rest of these pictures were taken on Ian's phone. Not the best quality but they will do!

We only have three other condos around us, one of them is a second home so they are never there and the one on the other side is a single lady the other is a couple. We hardly ever see anyone so it kind of feels like we have the place to ourselves. We used the whole front and sides to hide the eggs.

These aren't uncommon to Arizona people and really they weren't uncommon in St George either, but we hardly ever saw them in Prosser so their still pretty cool to us. They are always rattling around in the bushes freaking the heck out of me!

Finding Easter eggs is hard work!!

 

Me and my two cuties!! We are so blessed to have Brody and Kinsley in our family, they are so sweet and so fun to have around.

After the egg hunt I prepared dinner. We were invited by a couple families to join them but we had already planned dinner and kind of just wanted a laid back relaxing day so we stayed home and just enjoyed our little family. I cooked a ham in the crock pot with guess what...root beer, sounds funky right!! I was a little unsure myself but it turned out amazing, easily one of the best hams I have ever had! We had a wonderful dinner and watch a living scripture movie together and just enjoyed our Easter.
