Visit from family

A Visit From Family
Sunday - Monday
November 10th-11th, 2013

Ian's family is big on long drives and short trips, something I am not so used to. His parents, brother and our two nephews made the drive from St George Sunday night to spend some time with us. The boys all had a great time being together, love seeing cousin fun!!

Brody got tired a lot earlier then the other boys, as you can see in this picture haha.

Monday we went to Window Rock and did a little hick with all the kids.

I don't know for sure but I think I'm safe in assuming the town was named after this rock.

Afterwards we went to the zoo...yes Window Rock actually has a zoo, crazy I know!!

Bro and Uncle Gabe checking out the bear.

This mountain lion was crazy, we all swore it was stalking the kids! It didn't even look at the adults, just walked back and forth with its eyes glued on the kids, thank goodness for that fence!

Saying goodbye to his twin cousins, Quinn and Tyson. They are only 11 days younger then Brody, makes me realize how tall my little man is!

Even though it was short, it was a fun visit!

Halloween 2013

Halloween 2013
Thursday
October 31, 2013

Halloween started off with us going over to Aunt Becca's house to make popcorn balls. We wanted the kids to help, and they did in the beginning but quickly ran off to play together.

This was our first stop of the night, which means Kin's first ever trick or treating experience! I was so excited for costumes this year, I had this big plan to have a matching theme. Then we went to Wal-mart one night where Brody saw a ninja costume and was dead set of being it, I couldn't say no so the search for a baby ninja costume began. It was a little harder then I had imagined, the only one I could find was a sack which Kinsley would NOT go for. Buying everything we needed to make it myself would have added up to more then we wanted to spend so I had to come to grips with no longer doing a theme. Next year!!

Next we got together with Boaz and Adara and went to the rest of the houses.

We trick or treated around our teachers neighborhood first, then we headed over to the doctor housing which was insane!! I have never seen so many trick or treater's in one neighborhood!! We did two houses and left, it was just way too much for us. Next we hit up some other teacher housing.

By now it was getting VERY cold and all the kids were ready to call it quits. I of course wanted to snap a few pictures before we headed home.

After we got home Bro dumped the candy on the ground like all kids want to do and they went through their stash. As you can see Kin's thought this was pretty fun! A nice lady even gave her a teddy bear.

She was the cutest thing ever, she picked up almost ever piece of candy looked at it then put it aside

She was eager to share with us :)

Bro was super excited to help pass out candy once we got home, It was so fun to watch him enjoy every minute of it. My little boy is growing up too fast!!

I'm not sure where he learned this pose from but I have to admit it's pretty funny!

Kin's trying to sneak some popcorn balls.

We had such a fun filled night!! Although I have to admit St George Halloweens are much more enjoyable...last year we were in t-shirts while this year we were in heavy jackets. I want to live somewhere warm again!!

10 months

10 Months
Monday
October 21st, 2013

 Weight
She was weighed and measured at her doctor’s appointment on the 15th; those are the most recent ones I have. She is 17 pounds 12 ounces (which puts her in the 24th %) and is 28 4/8 inches long (which puts her at 81%). Her percentages sure aren’t keeping up with her birth ones, especially weight!! She has only packed on 7 pounds and grown 6 inches in 10 months! It’s still funny to me how much bigger she was then Brody at birth but Brody passed her stats up pretty quickly.

Health
Once again a not so good month for poor Kins. She has a terrible runny nose and was just acting sick so I took her in and turns out she had an ear infection. We got her on antibiotics; it hasn’t seemed to completely go away, hopefully soon.

Sleep

Ugh, sleep. I swear this girl goes back and forth like no other baby I’ve known. Usually when babies start sleeping through the night they will stay that way at least for a while…not this girl. She is constantly switching it up on us.  And like I’ve mentioned earlier once she starts screaming she doesn’t stop. She has started sleeping better since she’s been on medication though, hopefully it lasts. Luckily she is still taking her 2 naps a day (someone told me she is getting to the age where she shouldn’t be napping at all….totally crazy women right!!!) I will keep her naps for as long as I can! She always goes down for a nap within 2 hours of waking up, although this nap used to be a guaranteed 2 hours and now sometimes only lasts an hour, but I will take it!

Clothes
Miss Mae is mostly wearing 9 months, with some 12 months mixed in.

Diet
Still the same diet as always. She is nursing regularly still, always before naps and bedtime. She is eating at least one full jar of baby food a day, usually two and lots of yummy baby snacks. I can never say which jarred baby food is her favorite because its always switching, she only eats the fruit though…wont touch the veggies or meats (honestly I don’t blame her). Her favorite baby snacks are strawberry yogurt bites, cheddar little munchers and baby Mum Mums. She is back to liking the little puffs but still prefers the others, oh and she absolutely LOVES cheerios!

Crying
This girl has a temper that’s for sure! I totally believe that children are born with their personalities, because there’s no way she could have “learned” to be this way at such a young age. If she doesn’t get something she wants she already throws a fit, I’m really nervous for the whole terrible 2 and 3 thing with her. She isn’t always bad though, in fact she can be really really good. But when she’s bad she’s bad. We went to the store once with my sister in law to get some baby food. I put Kinsley in the cart and of course she didn’t want to be there so she started doing her normal screaming. My sister in law commented that she wasn’t doing a normal baby cry; she was literally screaming at me like she was ticked off….that’s our Kinsley.

Milestones
She if officially crawling, finally!! No more army crawling around here. She is also doing awesome at pulling herself up onto just about anything; she’s super stable to and can bend over and pick something up with one hand while still holding onto the couch with the other. She is also starting to walk along the furniture, not a ton but she’s figuring it out. A lot of teeth have come through this month, she has the 4 front one’s on top and three on bottom with one more coming through (on bottom). I don’t think she really knows that she’s saying, in fact I’m almost positive she doesn’t but she has started to say MaMa. It is the cutest thing ever; she puckers her lips out really far and keeps them pursed together while she says it. We are also noticing that she is starting to understand things, like if we ask her to come to us, or say no…things like that. She has also mastered pointing at things; it’s so cute to see what she’s curious about or wanting.

Products I'm loving
We really haven’t used any new products this month. I did finally find some more baby mum-mum snacks for her and she loves having them back! Our Wal-Mart must have quit selling them, so I found some at Albertsons.

Fun Facts
Well this little stinker now officially has figured out how to be mad at people. One night we were all together to say our family prayer and Brody accidently bonked her, she started crying which is normal but what happened next was not. Brody tried to give her a hug and tell her he was sorry but she wouldn’t let him, she put her hand right on his face and shoved him back, she wouldn’t even look at him. She wanted nothing to do with him; it was beyond obvious she was not happy with her big Brother. This has happened a couple other times since then. Another not so fun fact about her is that she is the uncuddliest baby I have ever met. The only person she cuddles with on a somewhat regular occasion is me, and this is only because I nurse her at nap/bed time so I get her during her sleepy moments. She will only cuddle when she is tired, which stinks because I LOVE cuddling, and Brody is starting to want to less and less the older he gets. My next baby better be cuddly or I’m doing to go through some major withdrawals. On a happier note she is a pro at waving, although she hasn’t quiet figured out to wave goodbye, but she will wave at people. Almost every time music comes on she starting waving, it’s pretty dang adorable. This little girl is so curious; she has to know everything that’s going on and has to check everything out…nothing is safe around her! But I’m more glad then anything about this one, I love to see her explore new things and check out the world around her. I know I said this last month but I just have to repeat…she has the cutest most precious smile and laugh. Seriously you can’t help but smile when you hear her laugh; it instantly warms my heart and makes me want to attack her with kisses. As you can imagine I love putting Miss Kinsley in dresses, she is my first girl after all. She on the other hand doesn’t enjoy them quiet as much; I can’t really blame her though. Since she’s still only crawling she hates being in a dress because she knees get caught in them and it always trips her and makes is almost impossible to crawl. So to work around this she will literally crawl on her hands and toes haha makes me laugh even talking about it. It’s pretty dang funny to see! She crawls on her hands and toes with her butt straight in the air. She also does this if she escapes from me before I get pants back on her after a diaper change or if she gets outside and the cement is really cold. I have to give it to her for being creative and solving the problem though!!
