23 Weeks
Saturday
November 22nd 2014

  • How far along? 23 weeks and 2 days.

Total weight gain: somewhere around 15 pounds I believe.

Maternity clothes? Pretty boring on this one, still pretty much the same as always. I don’t think I can button any of my pants anymore, at least none I’ve worn recently so I always either do the rubber band thing or have a belly band on. I’ve been wearing a few maternity shirts but most of my regular shirts still fit thank goodness, my wardrobe will be very slim pickings once I get bigger.

Stretch marks? I think I might have one or two new ones starting, honestly it doesn’t really bother me though…I mean this is my third pregnancy after all, I’m bound to have some!

Sleep: I still can never seem to get enough sleep, no matter how late I sleep in on the weekends how early I go to bed or how many naps I take it's never enough. I am so grateful that sleeps hasn’t been too difficult for me yet though, I’m getting more uncomfortable and it's starting to become harder to switch positions but I still sleep pretty great!

Best moment this week? The start of fall break!!!! I don’t think I could possibly put enough exclamation marks after that so I’ll just leave it at 4.

Miss anything? My energy as always and my family. It’s been really hard living so far away from my them but especially hard with this pregnancy. There have been so many times I wish I could just go to my mom’s house and relax over there or have her take the kids for a couple hours while I nap. But, more than the help with my children I just miss their company.

Movement: Yes, and I love it! Ian felt the baby kick really well this week; it’s getting easier to feel from the outside. This baby is by far the least active of all my babies, and I am hoping and praying that means he will be a super chill baby! Heaven knows with Kinsley around I could definitely use a low maintenance baby. It’s almost scary sometimes how little he moves, some days go by and I begin to worry because I haven’t felt him at all. But most of the time there is one period during the day where I feel him move around a little then he’s pretty still the rest of the time. It’s also fun because I can feel him on both sides at the same time while he’s stretching, he’s getting bigger.

Food cravings: My food cravings have been seriously disappointing so far. One of the biggest perks of being pregnant is having cravings and being able to get that food whenever you want simply because you’re pregnant. The closest thing I have to a pregnancy craving right now is sliced apples with caramel dip, and in all honesty it’s not really a craving at all I just like it.

    Food aversions: Nothing really.

Boy or girl: We are having a BOY!! We found out last Tuesday but I never got around to doing last week’s post.

    Labor signs: No

Symptoms: Fatigue as always, I seem to get out of breath a lot for ridiculous reasons like putting the laundry away. My nose is also always stuffed up, I read this is common with pregnancy...a little irritating at night.

Belly Button in or out? In, but it is showing the beginning signs of going out.

Wedding ring on or off? Off.

Looking forward to: Enjoying the rest of this fall break with my family, especially Thanksgiving. This is my second Thanksgiving that I’ve been pregnant for and it’s kind of nice not having to worry about looking fat afterward haha.

Fun facts: Like I said last time Kinsley originally wanted the baby to be a girl but later changed her mind and wanted as she put it another “Bro Bro”. This meant we all wanted a boy, I was a little nervous going to the ultrasound because I didn’t want everyone to be disappointed if it was a girl. We we’re all super excited to find out it was a boy, I couldn’t be happier!!! Im so excited for Brody that he gets to have a little brother! I’m also super excited to get to use some of Brody’s baby clothes again, he had some stinking cute outfits. Oh and we may know that we’re having a boy but don’t even ask us what his name will be, we will be lucky to leave the hospital with one. Name picking seriously stresses me out. I want to find the right mixture of a somewhat unique name but nothing too crazy because boys can really get made fun of and it definitely has to be manly, we’re talking about naming someone something for the rest of their life…talk about pressure.
