Zoo Time

Zoo Time
Tuesday
October 8th, 2013

Who would have thought the little reservation town of Window Rock would have a zoo!? Thank goodness because I was beginning to think there was nothing to do around here. My sister in law, the kids and I met a couple of our friends and had a great time. The kids had a blast seeing all the animals, playing on the stage and enjoying the awesome playground.

Hopefully this is the closest these two will get to a skunk!!

For being a small zoo I was pleasantly surprised with all the fun animals they had. Here B is checking out a porcupine, he  thought their house's were awesome with the mud on the top and their little faces were so cool.

A sign next to this owl explained that the natives believe the owl to be a deliverer of news, that every time you see an owl it is a warning that a loved one of yours will soon die.

Apparently these are what the Natives used to live in...pretty crazy to call this home!

Checking out the bears!

Sunday Fun

Random Sunday Fun
Sunday

This was the first time Kinsley has worn a true pair of jeans. As soon as they were on her she wasn't quiet sure what to think, she kept looking at them and reaching for them like they were the strangest things she had ever since. Cute little girl!!

Loving conference :)

This is Kinsley's new face she does. She puckers she lips out and sticks them up to her nose, with a somewhat disgusted look on her face. We can't help but laugh every time she does it, which is become quiet frequent.

We bought this game of pin the tail on the donkey for Bro's Birthday but didn't end up using it. He remembered it and wanted to give it a try, we all took a turn and had lots of fun!

Not sure if he was able to see a little too well under the mask or if he was just plain good at it! When he found the paper he ran his hand along it to find the end then went in a little to find the bum, what a smarty pants!

Saturday Session

General Conference
Saturday
October 5th, 2013

Kinsley Mae was so perfect during conference today! She did awesome at entertaining herself and even watch a little bit of it too :P
This picture is blurry but it's the only one I have of her doing this. She is waving back at us!! It is the first thing she has ever mimicked us doing, and she's doing it a lot! It's so much fun to see her grow and learn new things.

Being a good girl and watching General Conference :)

Birthday!!

Bro's 5th Birthday!!
Tuesday
October 1st, 2013

Today is Brody's special day...his Birthday!! I have no idea how the past 5 years went by so fast, it almost seems unreal to me. I remember giving birth to him like it was just the other day. I remember how small he was, what a sweet baby he was, how much he loved snuggling with me and the special bond we shared. Thank goodness we still share that special bond, it is hard enough having him grow up! He is such a sweet little boy, I really am one lucky mom to be able to call him my son.

Let me tell you a little bit about Brody...
He has one of the kindest hearts you will ever know, he truly cares about others. He wants other to be happy just as much as he himself wants to be happy. He knows what to say to make others feel good and he makes an effort to say those things. The other day I wore a maxi skirt, the second Brody saw me he told me how beautiful I looked. He will always apologize whenever he knows someone is upset with him or he did something wrong. A super sweet example, Brody shut the sliding glass door on Kinsley's fingers and as you can imagine she started screaming. We toke her into her room to try and calm here down. Brody felt horrible about this and came in to see how she was doing. She was still screaming so Brody thought that meant she was mad at him. Brody then said "Kinsley please don't be mad at me, I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to" and then gave her a hug and a kiss. Like I said he truly cares about others. He also LOVES having fun and LOVES being around other kids. He can sometimes be shy when it comes to big groups of people he doesn't know but then other times he will jump right in. His outgoingness really depends on the mood he is in. He is coming out of his shell more and more though as time goes on. He is getting a lot braver and now wants to walk himself to primary...not wanting help from anyone. He loves his family more then anything and loves being with us. He is also the most loving little boy! Although he is getting older and it is wearing off little by little he still really enjoys cuddling with me, especially at night. Every single night he asks me to cuddle with him, even if it's just for a minute he says :) He can also but a stubborn little stinker, once he has his mind set on something it cannot be changed very easily, wither its what he's wearing, what he wants to buy or anything really.
He is an electronics junky (which scares me to death), he loves watching Netflix, playing games online, watching crazy videos on YouTube, playing games on my phone, and playing/watching any kind of videogame. He is REALLY into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles right now...like seriously obsessed. He watches the shows, plays with the toys, and watches reviews on YouTube of what to buy...crazy I know!! He's also really into Power Rangers and is going to be a Ninja for Halloween.
He is such an easy going kid, so easy to have around. He loves to do crafts like coloring, finger painting, and all other kinds of cool stuff, he especially loves making things for others. He also really enjoys doing all kinds of experiments and making fun potions. He loves to learn and is such a smart little boy, his Dad and I are amazed at some of the things he knows. His memory is incredible, he can remember things from years ago like it just barely happened. He will tell me detailed stories of things that literally happened years ago! He still to this day tells me how much he misses his Grandma Great, and how he loved the pink ice cream she gave him and the fun blocks/phone he played with there.
He is such a fun little boy to have around. I always tell him that I love EVERYTHING about him, and I really do!! I couldn't ask for a better more handsome little boy to call my own. He is my little man cub!! His Daddy and I love him more then words can even express.
We Love you Brody Evan Harvey. Happy 5th Birthday!!

Like I mentioned earlier his newest love is Ninja Turtles, so we got him this awesome birthday shirt.
He was pretty excited!
We looked at pictures of cakes online and Brody requested a Donatillo (his fav turtle) one. I was a little nervous but it ended up turning out not to bad, thank goodness!
Bro and cousin Boaz waiting for the party to start!

Ready to make a wish, I would love to know what he wished for! I can only imagine what a little boys mind can come up with!

Since we are still fairly new and don't know many people (and living on a res makes it hard) we just did a low key party this year. Brody ended up having a BLAST though. It was noticeable how much he was enjoying himself and that alone is good enough for us!
Don't mind the sanded chairs...working on redoing the table.
Kinsley got some cake eating Practice in before her turn in a couple months :)
Present time!! Nana and Grandpa spoiled him with lots of presents that he was very anxious to open!

Getting lots of Ninja Turtle stuff!

He loved all of this gifts, and from what I could tell his favorite gifts were the Ninja Turtle van and the red Power Ranger motorcycle. He was one happy boy at the end of the night!
Us and our Birthday Boy. Isn't he so handsome!
Lovin all of this glow in the dark things!

Such a good Birthday for such an awesome little boy. We are so blessed to have this angel in our family.

Surprise

Birthday Surprise
Monday
September 30th, 2013

I absolutely love doing fun surprises for my family, It is totally my thing. This year I had all these plans to make Bro's birthday crazy special and hardly any of them happened. The night before his birthday I laid in bed feeling like a failure of a mom because I didn't have any kind of surprise waiting for him when he woke up. I couldn't take it anymore, I jumped out of bed grabbed the left over streamers and did what I could in their room without waking them up. At one point I accidentally dragged a streamer across Bro's face causing him to open his eyes and look right at me. Later I asked if he remembered and thank goodness he didn't!

Green and purple streamers in honor of Donatello, not much but its something!!

Our recent renters were quiet the pain in our butts...to say the very least. Over the weekend we had to make a trip up to our house in Show Low to clean up after them and get it ready for new renters, this fire pit was among the many things/garbage they left behind. I was super excited to bring it home, we joke that it's the only good thing our renters did for us!

I thought it would be fun to roast hot dogs for FHE, and other then the abundance of mosquitoes that are still sticking around it was lots of fun!! I love spending time together as a family!

Also got this wicker bench from them (they left a lot behind!).

Love this man!! So thankful for the wonderful husband and father he is!

Enjoying a hot dog and potato salad, fun night!

It was Brody's turn to do FHE so after dinner he taught us about the Stripling Warriors, some of his favorite people from the scriptures.

Monstrous
Friday
September 27th, 2013

To our surprise we found this monstrous caterpillar outside our front door. I don't know if I've ever seen one this big! Brody thought it was the coolest thing ever, and was beyond thrilled to be able to use his bug measuring thing he has had for forever. Arizona has some strange insects that's for sure.
