Christmas 2012

Christmas 2012

December 25th 2012

I was so excited to have our first Christmas not only as a family but as a family of 4, and it was even more exciting that Kinsley is so little and new. There is just something so tender and precious about a new baby, something that no other experience can bring. Having that mixed with the joy of Christmas was an incredibly special thing for us to be able to experience.

We are so lucky that Brody sleeps in. This kid is insane, not matter how early he goes to bed he will always sleep in. He is his mothers child that's for sure!! It was probably 10:00 before he finally got up and came into our room. He had to walk past everything to get to us so he was already super excited when he woke up us. He told us about the big basketball thing and star wars toys Santa left him! I wanted to catch his reaction when he came out the second time, the picture is a little blurry but it still shows his grinning face :)

If you know Brody at all you know he is a big time Star Wars fanatic! He has seen the movies a million times and loves everything to do with Star Wars. So of course Santa had to bring a bunch of Star War stuff. He also loves hot chocolate, we thought these mugs were pretty cool and of course so did Brody.

And his big present for the year, an awesome basketball hoop!! While we were at the store one night (after we had already bought it) he saw a different one and said how bad he wanted it...we were glad to know his big ticket gift would be a hit!

Brody was sweet as always with Kinsley and helped her check out all of her gifts. Poor Kinsley got the shaft this year, everything that she got was thrown together the night before from things we already owned. We didn't get her anything since she is so young and doesn't have a clue anyways (not by my choice) but at the last minute realized that it would be weird if Santa brought Brody a bunch of gifts and there was nothing for baby sister. Brody has an insanely good memory, were talking freakishly good, so we had to scramble to find things he didn't know we had for her that "Santa" could bring.

I just love this picture of her in her cute little Jammie's and hat!

It drove Brody crazy to leave this gift alone all month, I swear he almost didn't make it. It was the biggest wrapped gift and of course his attention was drawn to it. He kept saying that he thought it was a TV for his room...LOL we got a kick out of that one, like he bought him a flat screen TV for his room! He was still excited when he found out it was actualy a tent and not a tv.

Kinsley "opening" the gift Brody bought her. One time I was at a thrift store I let him pick out something for his baby sister, he found a rattle and thought it would be perfect for her. He was so excited for her to open it :)

Miss Kinsley's new dresses from us and Aunt Anya. Having a girl is so much fun!!

Between us and my parents Brody had a ton of gifts to open!! This is the last year he will be able to be spoiled like that, and boy did he go out with a bang!

We had bought a bunch of our bigger baby items on craigslist a while ago and gave some of them to Kinsley for Christmas. Again we didnt want Brody to think he was the only one getting presents.

I was at a thrift store again one time a few months ago and Brody found this gun. It was seriously 25 cents so I bought it for him but told him he would have to wait to get it. His Birthday came around and he bagged me to give it to him, well he didnt end up getting it for his birthday, he wasnt too happy about that. So he was thrilled to say the least to finally get it!! And boy did he remember it right away. I dont know why he loves it so much, but he does! I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot of this gun.

Opening his legos. He was glad to get something he could build with!

Christmas afternoon Ians parents and his Sister Ariels family came over. Grandpa loves his grandchildren, especially the girls, so he enjoyed some time with Miss Kinsley.

We thought this picture was cute. You will hardly ever see Grandpa Harvey sitting down and not fall asleep, this is totaly Grandpa for ya :)

Sweet baby girl in her Christmas shirt. I was excited to have her wear it! It is size 3 months so before she was born I wasnt sure if it was going to fit or not, good thing she was a huge baby and we didnt have any problems there!

Brody is always right by his baby sister ready to take care of her, such a sweetheart!!

Baby girl checking out her toys :) She is such a good baby, she is so calm and content. And she already had the sweetest personality, I cant wait for it to come out even more. We love this little girl so much, she has stole all of our hearts thats for sure.
